Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 10 April 2025

These terms set out the basis on which Alder House offers and delivers its financial education programmes. We have tried to present them in plain language. If anything is unclear, please write to us before enrolling and we will be glad to explain.

1. About Alder House

Alder House is a financial education practice operating from Lorong Bayu, No. 22 Bayu Residences, 63000 Cyberjaya, Selangor, Malaysia. We are reachable at [email protected] or by telephone at +60 3-8319 7524.

Alder House is a financial education provider. We do not hold a Capital Markets Services Licence and do not provide regulated financial advice under the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007 or any related legislation. Nothing in our programmes should be understood as a personal recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any financial product.

2. Our programmes

We currently offer three programmes:

Full descriptions of each programme are available on our Solutions page. Prices are in Malaysian Ringgit and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.

3. Enrolment and payment

Confirming your place

Enrolment is confirmed once we have received your completed enquiry or registration and full payment. For group programmes, your place is reserved only upon payment. We will send you written confirmation by email once both conditions are met.

Payment

Payment terms and accepted methods will be communicated during the enrolment process. All fees are payable in full before the first session unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.

4. Cancellation and rescheduling

Cancellation by a participant

Rescheduling

We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate rescheduling requests received at least forty-eight hours before a scheduled session. Rescheduling is subject to facilitator availability and cannot be guaranteed on short notice.

Cancellation by Alder House

If we need to cancel a session due to circumstances outside our control, we will notify you as early as possible and offer either a full refund or a rescheduled session at a mutually convenient time.

5. Nature of the service

Our programmes are educational in nature. The content we share is intended to help participants develop a clearer understanding of their own financial position and general financial concepts. It is not personalised financial advice and does not take into account the full range of an individual's circumstances.

Any decisions you make about your finances following participation in our programmes are your own. We encourage you to consult a licensed financial planner or adviser before making significant financial commitments.

6. Participant conduct

Our sessions — whether at the Cyberjaya studio or over video — are conducted in a respectful and considerate environment. We ask all participants to:

We reserve the right to remove a participant from a programme without refund if their conduct is materially disruptive or disrespectful.

7. Confidentiality

Any financial information you share with us during sessions is treated as confidential. We will not share details of your personal financial situation with any third party, except where required by Malaysian law or with your explicit written consent.

For group programmes, participants are asked to observe the same standard of confidentiality with regard to information shared by others in the group.

8. Intellectual property

All reading materials, worksheets, templates, and written plans produced by Alder House remain the intellectual property of Alder House. They are provided for your personal use within the programme and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used commercially without our written permission.

The five-year written plan produced during the Five-Year Written Plan Engagement is intended as your personal household document. You are free to use it for your own household purposes.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, Alder House's liability in connection with any programme is limited to the fees paid by the participant for that programme. We are not liable for any financial loss arising from decisions made on the basis of educational content provided in our sessions.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or any other matter for which liability cannot be excluded or limited by law.

10. Personal data

We collect and handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms or our programmes shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page. If changes materially affect an existing enrolment, we will notify affected participants by email.
